Our Story
It started with a goal of 20 adoptions. Once we hit 21, we knew we were here to stay.
Fast forward to present day, we have a network of foster homes based from Whakatane to Tauranga. Where possible, we also aim to support our community with resourcing, education and desexing.
Behind the Moggies
Our small but passionate team is 100% volunteer based and navigates the rescue around our families, employment, and day to day lives.
By working alongside our local vets, fellow rescues and petfood bank, we aim to assist those who need us most and represent the power of the everyday individual to take responsibility and drive change.
Everyone can make a difference to somebody. If you're passionate about animals and keen to be involved get in touch.
Our Values
Care.
We take in the vulnerable and care for them as our own.
Our focus is on providing them with the social and physical rehabilitation they need to thrive in their lives outside of the Rescue.
As our operation is small we get know each and every animal to best match their personalities with appropriate homes.
Community.
We started Moggies believing animals were a shared responsibility and are happy to share our resources, advice and time, to support members of the community wanting to make a positive difference for them.
Additional funds are directed into community desexing, food packages and basic supplies such as flea and worm treatments, bedding and toys.
Gratitude.
We are deeply grateful for the support of our amazing vets, adopters and the generousity of the people who believe in the cause.
No donations are used to pay for our time, run vehicles or purchase supplies not used in the rescue or the communities it supports.
What we put in we give willingly and where we have extra we share.
The Big Picture.
We’re all in this together.
Community support, sharing resources and education are all key to the change we need to see.
That change starts with people like you. If you're passionate about animals, join us and help us help them, together.
